About Me.
I am Ana Carla Rocha , a lawyer, specialist in Public Law and master in Political Geography and Spatial Production from the Federal University of Minas Gerais. My career has been dedicated to exploring how food systems can become tools to promote fairer cities, where access to food and respect for urban space go hand in hand.
During the German Chancellor Fellowship, I developed, with the support of GIZ, the Edible Cities Guide: an agroecological guide for fairer cities , a material that synthesizes learnings from initiatives in Brazil, Germany and other contexts, offering practical ways to transform cities through agroecology and urban agriculture.
Throughout my work, I have had the privilege of collaborating with organizations such as GIZ and the World Economic Forum , as well as leading projects addressing social justice, presenting a public policy project at the World Food Forum , an FAO event, and other initiatives related to strengthening communities through food security and sovereignty.
With the goal of sharing knowledge in an accessible and uncomplicated way, I created the Edible Cities Movement on Instagram. There, I address topics such as food systems, public policies and agroecology, always maintaining technical rigor without sacrificing simplicity in communication.
I believe that each project is an opportunity to unite research, practice and creativity , to develop solutions that directly engage with urban reality.
